CD One Price Cleaners is partnering for the seventh consecutive year with Cara to collect gently used interview-ready clothing for men and women, starting March 1 and continuing through March 31.
All 34 Chicagoland CD One Price Cleaners locations will serve as donation sites for gently used professional attire, including suits, dresses, pants, shirts, blouses, overcoats and other items (in all sizes). CD One Price Cleaners will dry clean and press donated clothing to Cara, the non-profit organization that prepares and inspires individuals to break away from the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
“We are thrilled to once again be partnering with Cara. They are an incredible organization that has given so much back to our community,” said Michael Jackson, Franchise Consultant for CD One Price Cleaners. “Cara provides the tools for those who may not have access to them and we are glad we can aid them again through our annual professional attire drive.”
Cara participants like Michelle receive complimentary professional attire to help them unlock their confidence they may have lost while experiencing poverty.
Cara specializes in workforce development for people who are ready to lift themselves out of poverty and homelessness. They accomplish this through a combination of personal and professional skills training, access to a diverse network of employment partners, and by providing one-year on-the-job retention coaching for their participants. Since 1991, they’ve placed more than 10,000 jobs with a 70% one-year, same-company retention rate for permanent and long-term job placements.
“We are so honored to once again work with CD One Price Cleaners on our seventh annual clothing drive,” said Maria Kim, President & CEO of Cara. “We strive to ensure our participants look and feel confident walking into a job interview, which is why we give everyone we serve interview-ready attire. Each year, this clothing drive guarantees our motivated job seekers feel a sense of pride and preparedness as they work towards finding gainful employment. We are so grateful to everyone who contributes.”
CD One Price Cleaners hopes to exceed the level of success with the drive as they’ve had in the past. Last year, they collected over 6,000 garments and they are challenging existing customers and community members to sift through their wardrobes and make this the most successful drive yet.
MeTV FM and CW26 will serve as the campaign’s media partners, building community awareness through radio and television ads, and integrated content in The Jam morning show on CW26.
