Jump Start Your Career
Cara is not your traditional workforce development program. We get that one size does not fit all and have built a platform that gives you what you need – new skills, new confidence, or new resources to help you on a path to gainful employment. We do this in a way that deepens connections within networks and within communities so that the next time life throws you a curveball, you’ll have a community who’ll be there for you to help you bounce right back.
Cara provides access to a network of more than 50 employment partners in numerous industries – all searching for talent just like you. We offer training and certification courses covering foundational job skills, digital and financial literacy, and industry certifications like OSHA, food service, and commercial cleaning. And we also offer complimentary resources while on your job search, including transportation passes, professional clothing, and other supportive services.

Our Employer Partners
How Cara Works for You
Whether you’re unemployed or underemployed, we want to be there to help you find a job. If you’re ready and motivated, our Recruitment Team is here to help determine the best path for you.
Training & Coaching
We provide free personal and professional support and resources to build skills and develop the confidence you need to walk into your next job interview.
Sometimes you need a little workforce experience to refresh your skills and make you more marketable to an employer. Cara owns and operates two social enterprises that offer such opportunities—Cleanslate, an exterior maintenance business, and Cara Connects, a mission-driven staffing firm. Both give you the chance to earn an income and strengthen your resume while looking for your permanent employment opportunity.
While you are going through Cara’s training or on a transitional job, we help identify the best position for you from employment partners in numerous industries. Then, we prepare you for that interview so you can walk in ready and confident.
Retention & Advancement
After you get that job, our work’s not done. Throughout your first year of employment, we’ll work with you to guarantee on-the-job success. And even after that year on the job, our Advancement Team is available to assist you as you plot the next move in your career and life.
- “Cara became my support system that empathized with my struggles, advocated my skills to employers, and guided me toward potential job opportunities I never considered.”– Selvan, Service Center Associate, C&W Services
