Are you ready for a spring closet refresh? Last year’s fashions could provide a fresh look (and a little added confidence) for someone ready for their second chance in life.

Cara and CD One Price Cleaners are once again kicking off their annual clothing drive to benefit our motivated job seekers. From now until March 31, all 34 CD One Price Chicagoland locations will serve as donation sites for gently used professional attire, including suits, dresses, pants, shirts, blouses, overcoats, and other items (all sizes welcome). CD One Price will also clean and press all donated clothing at no extra fee.

This is the fourth consecutive year for the drive – which is the largest single clothing drive for Cara each year. This year’s goal is to collect 2,000 items of clothing. “We’re inspired by Cara and their mission to help people find and keep quality employment,” said Jonathon Reckles, director of marketing, CD One Price Cleaners. “Our team and customers really get behind the drive, and we encourage anyone who can help to dig deep into wardrobes and make this drive the biggest yet!”

All donations go directly to Cara participants like Tari (pictured with CD One Drive employee Tierra) so they may receive complimentary interview-ready attire to wear at Cara and on their job search. When a Cara participant puts on business attire to start their journey, it gives them an extra dose of confidence and mojo needed to get them on their path to real and lasting success.

Tari is one of Cara’s rising stars. When she first came to the program she was depressed and, because of a learning disability, felt she had nothing to offer. She was tired of living the way she was and knew she deserved better. “I was down at my lowest, but I knew there was nowhere but up for me,” she said.

One year later, she is confident in her new-found skills and challenges herself every day. “I’m, more determined than ever and I’m excited to show my skills,” she exclaimed. “This is my second chance to start my life over with a new career and I’m excited about it!”
