“I was looking for a job, any job. I was looking for my purpose and something to motivate me. Really, I was distraught. I was unhappy and unfulfilled.

“My sister Hollie [an employed Cara participant] first told me about Cara and said that, of course, they help find a job. But what interested me was when she talked about how Cara peels back the layers and expose you to yourself, which I thought I needed.

“I needed some kind of therapy, some kind of relief from the many things I felt I kept buried.

“When I first started Cara and I saw Motivations, I was like, ‘Wow, people are really putting themselves out there and being transparent and they’re letting out things that you don’t want to talk about.’ The Motivations circle was intimidating but it was amazing. It’s a healing.

“I was surprised at how much was done during my time at Cara: actually seeing what motivates me and what my purpose is. I’ve always thought about how no one gets out of bed for no reason. You’ve got to have a reason. That really made an impression on me.

“Recently, I started a new job with CBC Specialty Beverages and I’m excited for what’s to come. Today, I feel hopeful, refreshed, and motivated.”
