Chief Financial Officer
Matt Michalak

Matt Michalak is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of experience spanning banking, consulting, and nonprofit finance. Throughout his career, he has advised and supported some of the nation’s largest not-for-profit organizations—including health systems, universities, and cultural institutions—helping them navigate complex financial challenges and pursue mission-aligned growth.
As a former public finance banker at leading institutions such as Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, Matt specialized in capital planning, investment strategy, and treasury management for mission-driven organizations nationwide. In recent years, he has brought that expertise into interim executive finance roles, providing strategic leadership, operational insight, and financial discipline to nonprofits during pivotal periods of transition and transformation.
Matt holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from Central College in Pella, Iowa. A dedicated community leader, he has served on several nonprofit boards and is a longtime volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Outside of work, Matt enjoys watersports, DIY home improvement projects, and exploring Chicago’s parks with his wife and two daughters.
Matt’s first job: “I was as an umpire for a junior high park district softball league.”
